WE CAN'T WAIT TO SEE YOU ALL THIS WEEKEND!
We're excited to welcome you to sunny San Diego!
As we prepare to celebrate our union in the beautiful city Josie was raised in, we've compiled some travel tips and accommodation suggestions to ensure you have a seamless experience.
Getting Here
By Air: For those flying into San Diego, the San Diego International Airport (SAN) is conveniently located just 3 miles from downtown San Diego and approximately 14 miles from La Jolla, where our wedding festivities will take place. The airport serves numerous domestic and international flights daily.
By Car: San Diego is well-connected by highways and is easily accessible by car. Interstate 5 (I-5) runs directly through San Diego, making it a straightforward route for those coming from the north or south.
Where to Stay
While we will be staying in La Jolla (to be close to our wedding venue!), we encourage you to find a place that best suits your needs and budget.
The suggestions below would allow you to have a walkable experience to and from both the welcome party and wedding:
HOTEL 1: Grande Colonial
Close to shops and restaurants, and two blocks from the Cove and the Cormorant, the Grande Colonial is larger, quieter and more traditional. Prices may be higher than the Cormorant or the Empress, but the hotel offers a variety of room choices, including ocean views, rooms with two queen beds and suites with kitchenettes. There is an outdoor pool and patio, plus a very good restaurant. Valet parking is available for a fee.
HOTEL 2: Cormorant Boutique Hotel
Great location, close to the main shopping area of La Jolla, and a block away from La Jolla Cove. Amenities are minimal and hallways can be a bit noisy, but the rates are half the price of the La Valencia Hotel next door. Many rooms have outdoor balconies and/or windows with ocean views. The hotel has a rooftop bar and small market. Valet parking for a fee.
HOTEL 3: The Empress
The Empress also offers a central La Jolla location, a few blocks from the Cove. No coastal views and Rooms are dated, but prices are usually good. The on-site Italian restaurant is very popular. Valet parking for a fee.
HOTEL 4: Pantai Inn
Balinese-inflected boutique hotel, close to the water, with various room types, beloved by reviewers on Trip Advisor. Self-parking for a fee.
HOTEL 5: The La Jolla Shores Hotel and La Jolla Beach and Tennis Club
These sister properties are located on one of San Diego’s most popular beaches, a short drive (or longish walk) from downtown La Jolla. If you want your toes to be in the sand, this is your place. Rooms aren’t fancy, but rates are lower in the winter, and the sunset views and beach walks (north to the Scripps Pier) are just as good. Guests at the Beach and Tennis Club can use the pool and sports facilities. There are restaurants and shops in the vicinity, including the Marine Room, famous for its high tide breakfasts during full moons.
Safe travels!!!
